With a circulation of over 25,000 and an estimated readership of over twice that, Northwest Yachting is the largest boating publication - for both powerboaters and sailors - in the Pacific Northwest. Published monthly, Northwest Yachting is distributed free to the yachting community through marinas, chandlers, yacht dealers and brokers, waterfront restaurants and other locations boaters frequent throughout the Northwest, including Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, British Columbia and California. ![]()
Known for its strong editorial content, Northwest Yachting has gained a very loyal readership - thousands of boaters who religiously read Northwest Yachting cover to cover each month. Whether it's our all inclusive "Coming Attractions" section, or our comprehensive "Northwest Yachting Reports," or any of the other wealth of entertaining and informative editorial material that is in every issue, Northwest boaters have come to realize that no matter what they're interested in, they'll get it in Northwest Yachting.
But Northwest Yachting is not just a magazine, but also a powerful voice for the promotion of all boating in the Northwest. Upbeat, positive, aggressive - Northwest Yachting speaks loudly and clearly: There is nothing as fun as just messing around in a boat. We know it, and we tell our readers so. Furthermore, Northwest Yachting never forgets where the majority of its income comes from - the advertisers. With special editorial sections such as our popular "Launchings," "New Boats," "Business Notes" and "New Products," plus our ground-breaking "Boats For Sale" section (Yes, we did invent "Boats For Sale!), which is the largest, readily available list of boats for sale by brokers in the country, Northwest Yachting leads the way in getting your advertising message to the Northwest boating community. All this at rates below any other boating magazine on the West Coast.
Finally, there's the bottom line; we work. Just ask our customers. There's a reason why Northwest Yachting sells more than double the number of column inches of display advertising than any of its competitors; why over 95% of all active yacht brokers in the Northwest advertise in Northwest Yachting; why we are also Number One for aftermarket advertising.
When it comes to low-cost, highly effective advertising, no one beats Northwest Yachting! SPECIAL SERVICES Launchings: "Launchings," that unique celebration of one of the more joyful moments in a boat owner's life - when he or she buys a new boat - is a powerful statement about the absolute "okayness" of purchasing a recreational vessel. After all, the people whose photos appear in "Launchings," look neither rich nor foolish, yet they have made the buying decision and they have smiles on their faces! "Launchings" also helps to strengthen the local boating community by introducing new members to it. It is a big hit with other boat owners who are always interested in what boat is where and owned by whom. Best of all "Launchings" is free advertising for you and your company. Don't forget, your launchings say that you sell boats - something we're sure you'll want prospective buyers and sellers to know! We encourage all advertisers to use "Launchings" as an effective marketing tool! "Launchings" is open only to current advertisers. All information and photos are provided by the brokers. Please include names of all included in photo (carefully printed so we can read them!), the name and type of boat involved (previous names as well) and any additional information such as moorage location, cruising plans, etc., which may be of interest to our readers. Don't forget the name of the selling broker and the name, phone number and city of the brokerage. We cannot promise to return photos. Deadline for all "Launchings" is the 10th of the month.
Boats For Sale: We invented "Boats For Sale" and while others have tried to copy us, none have come close. Northwest Yachting's "Boats For Sale" is the largest, most accurate, up-to-date listing of new and used boats available for sale on the West Coast. "Boats For Sale" has been proven to be a highly effective marketing tool.
Listings in "Boats For Sale" are free to all advertisers who place a minimum 1/6th page ad in the same issue. Listings are tied directly to the page number on which the ad is placed. All information is supplied by the advertiser, and the advertiser is totally responsible for the accuracy of that information. We do request that listings be limited to brokerage or in-stock new boats, that brokerage listings are legitimate, signed listings and that the listings are carefully checked to remove expired listings or sold boats. All new listings and changes in current listings are made on our web site. Only those listings with complete information, including prices, will be incorporated into "Boats For Sale". Your current list of listings will be supplied to you right around the 1st of the month and must be returned with corrections, changes and new listings by the 15th of the month. The list appears in our magazine as well as our web site. Monthly advertisers get a link from each of their listings to their web site. New Products: Our popular "New Products" section provides detailed information on recreational marine products that are of interest to our readers. While inclusion in the "New Products" section is open to all manufacturers, distributors and dealers, priority goes to current advertisers. Product inclusion must meet the standard of interest to our readers as established by our editorial staff. Please provide as much information as possible. To maintain our editorial integrity, final copy will be produced solely by the Northwest Yachting editorial staff and is not subject to editing or pre-reading by the product manufacturer, distributor or dealer. New Boats: New Boat reviews are open to any new boat manufacturer or dealer, although priority, subject to the approval of the editorial staff, is to current advertisers, on a first come, first served basis. Please provide as much information as possible. Final copy will be produced by the Northwest Yachting editorial staff and follows the same editorial standards and guidelines as "New Products".
