24 Corsair Sprint MkII

24 Corsair Sprint MkII

Oystercatcher, originally ‘Bullet’, was built for 2 Corsair Marine executives in Saigon in 2014. They kept her for two years in Phuket, Thailand where she was reportedly sailed only 12 times. The current owner found her there and shipped the boat to Port Townsend in 2016 where he has sailed and raced her regularly. Oystercatcher is ready for her next speed racer.

All Corsairs are fast and fun, but the Sprint is perhaps the most pure. The cuddy cabin is perfect for two with a raised overhead over the v-berth (new mattress!) and an an area for a port-potty and cooler while the large cockpit lets your stretch out and makes sail handling a breeze. This is a boat that can take line honors in the Race to Alaska (, or take the family out for a pleasant day sail on the bay. It’s light enough to trailer behind a mid-size car so you can head south at 55 mph during the winter months.

During her build, every option available was incorporated into the boat as well as special features unique to this Sprint MKII. Her bowsprit, rudder, tiller, rudder cassette and her boom are all carbon fiber and her daggerboard is composite (glass and carbon). Her ama’s, outside hulls, are high-volume floats with an additional 50L of buoyancy in comparison to the standard MKII floats, and they are completely seamless for a smoother ride. The oversized ama’s let you push hard in a big breeze with no penalties in light wind. Her aka’s, the beams that connect the main hull to the ama’s, are carbon fiber and are lighter and stronger as well as beautiful, with a high gloss twill finish on the undersides.

Oystercatcher comes with a big sail inventory, including a Doyle black Aramid racing main and jib, a screecher on a furler (never been used), and lightly used spinnakers from Doyle and North Sails. She also includes the full spinnaker and screecher package from Corsair, oversized two-speed Harken winches, and multiple carbon and alloy tiller extensions so you can steer from the cockpit or out on the Aka (“like flying over the waves”). She includes a Velocitek Speed Puck for speed and heading information, Colligo cap shrouds and static tensioners, an 8:1 upgraded mainsheet system, a 5:1 upgraded sports mainsheet traveler system (run to floats), jib sheet barber-haulers, upgraded Harken sports winches (x2 on cabin top, x2 on combing), an AGM battery (new 2016) and a Tohatsu 6hp Sail Pro long shaft outboard (new 2016) for propulsion and battery charging. There are two engine mounts; one on the stern and one internal mount amidships for positioning in light air racing. She also includes fenders, anchor and rode, a boom tent (never been used) and life jackets.

Oystercatcher includes a Pacific Trailer that’s in great condition (new 2016). The trailer is galvanized and it has a heavy duty brake winch for stepping the mast. It also includes disc brakes, radial tires with a spare, sealed bearings and torsion bar suspension.

Oystercatcher is ready to launch, hoist the sails and fly! You won’t find another one like her.
