Adventure, a Bristol 35′ designed by John Alden and built by Bristol Yachts, has been lovingly maintained by the current owners since 1985 when they purchased her in Annapolis, Maryland. They are the 3rd owners and sailed the Chesapeake Bay and ICW for 15 years prior to trucking her to the Pacific Northwest to her current home in Port Hadlock, WA. They loved sailing her too much on the east coast to leave her behind and she’s proven to be a fantastic sailor on the Puget Sound, Strait of Juan de Fuca, San Juan Islands and beyond.
Adventure is a centerboard sloop, drawing 3’9″ with the board up and 7’8″ with the board down. This allows for gunk holing adventuring in shallow bays or harbors with the board up and with the board down she points well and is stable in a breeze. The current owners wife has nicknamed the boat “Stable Mable” for how well she does in big wind and seas.
Adventure has been well maintained and is well equipped for the Pacific Northwest and beyond. She has a new Raymarine Radar and Chart Plotter, a Uniden VHF Radio and ICOM IC-32 Handheld VHF, a Maxwell Freedom 800 Electric Windlass, a Yanmar 25HP 3-cylinder diesel engine (new in 1988), Mainsail Roller Reefing, a 150% Genoa on a ProFurl Furler, and a Drifter (Red, White and Blue). She also has a Xantrex TrueCharge 20+ Amp Multi-stage Battery Charger, an Edson Portable Bilge Pump, a Propane BBQ, Propane 2-Burner Stove, an Emergency Tiller, Bug Screens for the Forward and Main Hatches, a LifeSling Overboard Rescue System, and a Teak Cockpit Table that folds out to seat 4. The cockpit is large and comfortable and has a Bimini, dodger, helmsman (that connects the dodger to the Bimini) and side panels. There is a new toe rail all around the boat, she had a new Barrier Coat put on the bottom in 2013 and the Bottom was Painted this July, 2018.
Her interior is spacious with 6’3″ of headroom. There is good storage in the L-shaped Galley and a nice area for charts and storage to starboard. The U-shaped settee drops to a double berth and there is a pipe berth on starboard above the settee. She’s laid out well with a private head and private cabin forward with a roomy V-berth.
Adventure comes with everything you need to take her on your next adventure. She has loads of spares, a boat hook, fenders, dock lines, a step fender (to get from the dock or dinghy aboard easily), a Wind Scoop, American Flag on a teak flagpole, a Radar Reflector, Ships Bell, Ships Horn, and lots of Charts and Chart books.
Adventure has been well loved and taken care of and she’s ready for her next Adventurers!
