That National Oceanic and Atmospheric Agency (NOAA) has released comprehensive stats on the economic impact of fishing in the U.S. in 2011. The $199 Billion impact of fishing is formidable, and up from 2010. The greatest commercial economic impact is in Alaska, but the greatest recreational impact was in the southeastern states.
