Happy New Year, indeed: Available in January from Denison Yachts, the all-new Swift 48 provides generous, opulent living spaces for long-distance cruising.

It’s never too early to start thinking about 2023 boat models, so mark your calendars for the release of the Swift 48 in January. Featuring a sophisticated layout by Micad Naval Architects and design by Andreani Design of Italy, the new 48 is one of the largest trawler models in the Beneteau line and provides generous, opulent living spaces for long-distance cruising.

Entering through the patio doors, guests will find a large, L-shaped galley aft to port, featuring a 67-gallon refrigerator/freezer combo. The galley includes either a standard gas oven or an optional multi-function electric oven, and either a gas or induction cooktop. The raised edge Corian countertops include a large sink, a pull-out stowage unit, and plenty of cabinet space for any gourmet chef. A voluminous sideboard also features an interior bottle rack, along with extra room for an optional dishwasher. Forward of the galley is a raised dinette that can be converted to a double berth, opposite the helm station is to starboard.

The aft cockpit merges from the indoor salon to an open-air table and two folding chairs, plus a transverse bench seat. A transom double gate opens onto a wide swim platform that can be operated with an optional hydraulic lift. An asymmetrical deck layout provides extra protection to starboard, with high bulwarks and an acrylic wind shielding door. The flybridge is accessible via a set of foot-pedal-operated sliding stairs to port.

The flybridge is the perfect place for entertaining, with 215 square feet of space and a layout that enhances the 360-degree panorama view. Backrests on either side of the pilot station, along with transverse seating and a folding table, create a casual area in which guests can eat and relax. Aft on the flybridge, a forward-facing wet bar and grill allows boaters to socialize with guests while cooking or making drinks. The aft flybridge space and the foredeck also have room for sun loungers, including an optional sunpad and space for additional seating.

Accommodations include the forward owner’s cabin, featuring a double berth, large hull windows, and an overhead hatch to bring in natural light and ventilation. The en suite bathroom also includes a separate shower cubicle with a seat. To port, the guest cabin has a double berth and an en suite door to the day head. The starboard guest cabin has a transverse double berth with room for either a large wardrobe or a washer/dryer stack.

Engines on the Swift Trawler come in the standard twin Cummins QSB 380hp version, with a top speed of 21 knots, or the optional 425hp upgrade, with a top end up to 25 knots.
