Maritimo, the Australian-based luxury yacht builder, is expanding their presence in the Northwest with a new company-owned office in Seattle. Maritimo’s CEO Garth Corbitt stated in a press release that the move was an exciting step forward in their international brand expansion strategy and is a positive move for existing Maritimo owners in the Pacific Northwest.

Maritimo Americas’ President Dave Northrop said Maritimo already had a strong position in the Northwest with Compass Point Yachts representing the company in the area for many years.

“Bill and Michelle King of Compass Point Yachts have worked very hard in this area and have a lot of happy Maritimo owner clients, and our new Seattle office and new appointments will just take our presence to the next level,” said Northrop. The Kings now head up the Maritimo company office in Newport Beach, California, although they will still be active in the Northwest market.

Two experienced local brokers are joining Maritimo at the new office; Jason Smith and Paul Groesbeck, both formerly of Alexander Marine USA. Smith is a Washington native who started his yacht sales career in San Francisco where he quickly became a top salesman before joining Alexander Marine USA in Seattle. He is a lifelong boater who can often be found with his wife Marissa, son Tyler and their Golden Retriever, Tinsley, aboard their classic wooden Stephens yacht, Coquette.

Groesbeck has spent all 16 years of his maritime career with the Alexander Marina USA team. Also an avid boater, Groesbeck, his wife Debbie, and their two girls Brooke and Katie are on the water whenever they get the chance.

Both are members of the Certified Professional Yacht Brokers. “We are thrilled to have Jason and Paul join us and I strongly believe our sales of luxury flybridge motoryachts and sports yachts in this region will be significantly boosted as a result,” said Corbitt.

Groesbeck and Smith will debut at the Boats Afloat Seattle Boat Show from January 24 to February 1 alongside their California colleague Bill King and three Maritimo flybridge motoryachts. “Our range of flybridge motoryachts is particularly popular in this area because of the enhanced visibility and the climate-controlled environment,” said Northrop. “We are very excited about the upcoming show and cannot wait to roll out our new, enhanced team publicly.”
