Boatyard Owners, Listen Close!

by Norris Comer

If you’re involved with boatyard ownership or management in Washington, you best keep reading. The Washington Department of Ecology (Ecology) is hosting two informational workshops to explain the new Boatyard General Permit, answer questions, and provide training to permit holders for electronic reporting. Ecology recently issued the permit for a fifth term, which became effective August 8, 2016 and will expire July 31, 2021. The training is largely focused on electronic reporting of monitoring data, which is a new requirement of the Boatyard General Permit.

Knowledge is power and knowing the new rules is a good way to stay in compliance. The free workshops are hosted on Tuesday, September 20 at 1300 hours at Everett Community College, 2333 Seaway Boulevard, Everett and Wednesday, September 21
at 1300 hours in the Ecology Headquarters Building at 300 Desmond Drive, Room ROA-32/34 in Lacey, Washington.

If you plan on attending the workshop, please contact Dena Jaskar at dena.jaskar@ecy.wa.gov to register.
