Foss Waterway Seaport Offers Affordable Intro to SUP, Sailing

by Kurt Hoehne

Not only is Foss Waterway Seaport offering a cool place to get in touch with this region’s maritime history, it is following through with its plans to make hands-on boating available as well. By combining forces with the Youth Marine Foundation and the Sea Scouts, the Seaport can offer something rare these days, a chance to try water activities, with some instruction but without a huge commitment. Kudos.

Also note that another of our favorites, rower and author Jordan Hanssen, will be speaking. He’s an experienced and entertaining speaker with great stories to tell! –KH

From Foss Waterway Seaport:

Come on down for two weekends of getting out on the water with hands-on lessons and experiences with paddle board, kayaks, sailing, and more!

The Foss Waterway Seaport is dedicated to connecting people to the wonders of Puget Sound. Helping you get out on the water in a way you’ve never tried before means as much to us as the exhibits in our museum.

If you’ve ever wanted to try stand-up paddle boarding, you can sign up for a two-hour lesson at just $20/person. (That’s less than it would cost you to rent a paddle board for the same amount of time!)

Want to try your hand at sailing or kayaking? We have lessons for those too–just $20/person for kayak or sailing lessons.

These hands-on adventure opportunities are deeply discounted thanks to the generosity of donors to the Foss Waterway Seaport. If you’ve ever wanted to try getting out on the water, now’s your chance!

Register for your own adventure on the water now!
