Horsfield 10th in Mini Transat – Going A little Crazy

by Kurt Hoehne

Craig Horsfield and his Pogo 2 Naked Retreats held on to 10th after an epic days-long battle with Arnaud Chaigne. Horsfield’s wife Carolyn was on hand at the finish line and joined him aboard for the tow into the harbor at Pointe a Pitre, Guadeloupe. Carolyn reports that the reason _jva7529Craig held to a more northerly course was because of garbled English-speaking weather reports of the depression along the great circle route. He managed to mitigate the losses and work back into 10th. After a massive collision at the start of the aborted first start of this race, a flight home to Seattle and back to France, repairing and trucking the boat to Spain, a sprained hand and a broken rudder, this epic adventure has come to a close.
