Linssen Grand Sturdy 40

Linssen Yachts BV is a family firm in Holland with a very rich and long history. In 1949, founder Jac. Linssen Sr. started the company as a small-scale woodwork and ship repair business. Over the years, the business continued to develop and now is an important player in international steel yacht building.

Like its smaller sisters, the Linssen Grand Sturdy 40 is available in an AC variant (with an aft cabin) and a Sedan variant (with an open, self-draining cockpit). The easily recognizable and slim profile of a Linssen is consistently carried through into this new, elegant design that makes her a high-volume vessel with a full, wide forward compartment. The generously proportioned layout of the Linssen 40 is unprecedented.

These generous proportions are easily noticed upon entering the salon. The salon and kitchen are situated on the same level, with only one step between the salon and the kitchen compartment, allowing the cook and guests to enjoy life aboard together. Practical, efficiently positioned drawers and cupboards make food preparations on board very convenient.

The steps to the forward cabin can be folded up to allow access to a useful wine cellar. Looking aft, the steps give access to the salon. The forward cabin features a double bed that is easily accessible from both sides, and portholes and deck hatches allow lots of light and air to enter the cabin.

The head can be accessed from the forward cabin and the central entrance area, giving everyone on board easy access. The aft cabin is also extremely spacious, with a freestanding double bed, separate shower and toilet, as well as a large amount of cupboard, storage, and drawer space.

In the Sedan version, the passage connecting the salon to the cockpit is on one level, with only a low threshold. Running along the length of the superstructure, the Linssen Longtop covers the cockpit. This allows guests to stay comfortable, dry, and sheltered from bad weather; especially when sitting on the integrated bench seat in the cockpit. Passengers will also appreciate the bench seat in good weather with a central stern door to the swimming platform.

Though Jac. Linssen Sr. recently passed away in March of 2020, the Linssen experience lives on.
