Roche Harbor Salmon Wrap-up

by Kurt Hoehne

Between the near-cancellation and the great success, last week’s Roche Harbor Salmon Classic was one to remember. Here are some happy salmon fishermen and women!

David Reep, Mt. Vernon, WA ~ is all smiles when his 22.3 oz. beauty knocked 21.13oz to second place late Friday!
One happy fisherman.
Wow ~ Surdyk Father and son Team from Snohomish ~ scored big time ~ with a 19.6 oz. 3rd Place and 64.3 oz in total boat weight to stuff a total of 5G into their pockets! Larry Surdyk Michael Surkyk (3rd place angler) Jason Hennig
Jerry Thomas from Mt. Vernon remained on the leader board with his 18.3 oz $1000 cash prize catch!
Craig Hougen of Bellingham, WA knows what a difference a single ‘ounce’ can make ~ $1000 in prize money! Just by an ounce he scooted into 4th place with his 18.4 oz fish($2000), above Jerry Thomas’ 18.3 oz (5th PL $1000)
Eric Reynolds was first up to weigh station on Friday at 9:15 am! His 21.13 was still wiggling on the scales and dominated the top spot until late Friday afternoon! Eric and his fishing buddies were participating on a Silver Horde Pro-Staff boat! This was their first time fishing in the Roche Harbor Derby ~ think they said, ‘they’ll be back’ !
