On October 21st the Office of Coast Survey announced it would no longer be producing paper charts as of April of next year. This was, of course, to be suspected if not inevitable. And the government is not leaving us stranded, charts are now available online for free and arrangements have been made for printing on demand (POD). I’ll be covering this more in my column in Northwest Yachting Magazine, but in the meantime if anyone wants to chime in with their thoughts, please do so!
