Built in 2018, this Ocean Alexander 70 Evolution is made for luxurious cruising, with ample space for socializing and entertainment, but also has exceptional stability for long-range excursions. Playbook is constructed with advanced composite materials and hydraulic zero-speed fin stabilizers, providing the smoothest possible ride on choppy seas.

Stepping aboard the hydraulic, teak-lined swim platform, one notices there is plenty of room to park a 13’ Walker Bay tender (2019). A centerline transom door provides access to the crew quarters and engine room. A few steps up on either side is an al fresco cockpit, with a forward-facing settee and a lacquered hi-lo table. Opposite is a small wet bar with a mini-fridge and ice maker. A handy combination windscreen and sunshade can also be rolled down from the overhanging upper deck to provide a little relief from the weather.

To port, a teak staircase leads to the flybridge, and to starboard is a joystick-controlled docking station. Open-air, teak side decks also run the length of the yacht to the foredeck, where another high-gloss dinette table and two settees are located. Forward of the seating area is a huge sunpad, big enough for several lounging sunbathers.

Inside the electric sliding glass door forward of the cockpit is the entrance to the salon, furnished with an L-shaped settee opposite a sofa to port. One of three fold-down TV screens can be lowered from the salon ceiling—the other two can be found in the cockpit and flybridge. Just forward, the galley is situated to starboard, featuring an island with a raised counter, a double-door refrigerator, an oven and cooktop, a microwave, and a dishwasher. Nicely situated nearby is a foldable table and dinette seating for up to eight guests.

The vessel’s lower helm is fitted with Garmin touchscreens and a suite of the latest navigational gear. The Stidd helm chair features joystick controls and autopilot built into the armrests. A floating staircase aft of the helm leads to an even larger flybridge helm, equipped with the same electronics and two Stidd chairs. The 360-degree views from this perch will likely make this Playbook’s main helm. The rest of the flybridge is partially covered with a hardtop and includes a wraparound settee and hi-lo table. Just aft of the helm is another wet bar with barstools, an ElectriChef grill, and refrigerator, providing yet another inviting gathering space.

The lower deck contains the four staterooms: a midship, full-beam master with an en suite head and shower, plus his-and-hers sinks; a VIP stateroom at the bow, with an island queen berth and en suite head; and two guest cabins, with two bunk beds to port, two twin beds that can be slid together into one berth to starboard, and a shared guest head.

Playbook is powered by twin Volvo IPS1200 engines, providing a combined 1,800 hp, giving the vessel a cruise speed of 23 knots and a maximum speed of 27 knots.
