J COMPOSITES

Ed. Note: See it at the Seattle Boat Show!

The J/122E is a development of the already wildly popular J/122, the perfect blend of all-around J Boat performance with interior cruising luxury. The “E” is for elegance and evolution in performance design. Why settle for less than sailing where and when you want to in comfort, style and speed?

From its sailor-friendly cockpit with optimized sail handling to the spacious, naturally lit two or three cabin interior, the J/122E is as easy to sail offshore as she is entertaining guests for dinner. Responsive, stable and pure magic to steer, the J/122E is what sailing is all about.

The J/122’s have quickly set the performance standard for dual-purpose 40 foot racer-cruiser sailing yachts both inshore and offshore. J COMPOSITESMost recently she was the overall winner of the 2014 Rolex Middle Sea Race and class winner of the 2014 Sevenstar Round Britain & Ireland Race. Locally the design has taken the 2012 Swiftsure Cape Flattery Race Overall, 2013 Oregon Offshore Overall, 2013 Swiftsure Cape Flattery Race 2nd Overall (with a broken boom) and the 2014 Swiftsure Cape Flattery Race Overall, all followed by cruising the Pacific Northwest in style.

No other 40 footer has equaled its unique ability to win in light air and flat water to heavy air and enormous seas on any point of sail. Proof is in J/122’s winning record with a wide variety of sailors, from fully-crewed to double-handed. Designed to be a fun, fast, efficient racing and cruising sailboat that can be sailed by a couple, double-handed or with a full complement of crew on-board.

Developed with and built by J/Europe in France, the J/122E is distinguished by a well executed high quality interior, a non-overlapping sail configuration that simplifies the deck layout and sail selection. A setback headstay with recessed furler to maximize the jib luff length while retaining the convenience of jib furling from the cockpit. Plus, the simplicity of an asymmetric spinnaker flown from a retractable carbon bow sprit makes it easy to achieve near peak performance with minimal crew effort.

J COMPOSITESChoice of three cabin/single head or two cabin/two head interior layout with full headroom for live-aboard cruising, complete galley, proper navigation station, opening ports for ventilation and plenty of storage. The J/122E is perhaps the ultimate 40′ day sailing, weekending, racing and cruising sailboat. Your success in life will flow naturally into the elegant and capable performance sailboat that is the J/122E.

Come see the spacious, naturally lit two cabin/two head interior of the J/122E in the West Hall at the Big Seattle Boat Show. She will be indoors along with the new J/88 Sportboat – If sailing is having your cake and eating it too, then the J/88 is like ordering the whole dessert menu.
